Wellness Coordinator

Hi, my name is Sydney Fisher, I am the Wellness Coordinator in the Wellness Center located in Rm. 151. I am a native San Franciscan, ride a 2002 Harley Davidson Sportster and I am the proud human of two dogs, Mr. Woo, a French Bulldog and Daisy Doo an adorable Chihuahua with huge ears. I went to Abraham Lincoln High School (go Mustangs!!!), where I was a junior varsity cheer leader and ran track. I like yoga, watching scary movies, hiking, camping, reading and listening to true crime podcasts. In my previous work experience, I have worked with youth who were involved in the foster care system and/or the juvenile justice system and youth with a history of substance use and/or mental health issues. As a social worker and your wellness coordinator, I am committed to providing student-centered health services, as well as, assisting students who need to access resources that will assist in supporting their academic, social mental and emotional health. I am also dedicated to and advocate for racial and social justice, diversity, freedom and equity for those who have been oppressed and marginalized in society and institutional systems. My desire is to live in a world where everyone has the ability to meet their basic needs, to be afforded equal and equitable access to opportunities and to live well, safe and free.

Hi, my name is Ishani Sharma, I am an Associate Therapist in the Wellness Center. I am here to support  students with whatever they bring into the session. Together we can work on strategies to address the root causes of  their difficulty and build meaningful connection between themselves and others. This is a safe and confidential space.

Mental Health matters and this is an important stage in  their life to practice things that will build their resiliency. I am committed towards my goal for making mental health services accessible to all.

I am a friendly introvert who likes working out, doing yoga, going to the park, reading, cooking, and traveling.

Maye Gutierrez, RAMS Therapist

Hi my name is Maye Gutierrez, and I am excited to be serving as one of the Behavioral Wellness Counselors this year! I am bilingual y habló español. I am from LA and moved up to the Bay to attend SF State. I enjoy going to the gym and lifting, hiking, dancing, reading, and anything that has to do with learning about self-development! As a therapist and a Behavioral Wellness Counselor, I look forward to supporting students who may be struggling with anything going on in their life or would just like someone to listen. Together we can find coping strategies that work best for you. If you need to talk to anyone come and talk to me, I look forward to getting to know you! :)


Hola, mi nombre es Maye Gutierrez y estoy emocionada de ser una de las consejeras de bienestar este año. Soy bilingüe y hablo español. Soy de Los Ángeles y me mudé a San Francisco para asistir a SF State. ¡Disfruto yendo al gimnasio y levantando pesas, caminando, bailando, leyendo y cualquier cosa que tenga que ver con aprender sobre el autodesarrollo! Como terapeuta y consejera de bienestar, espero poder apoyar a los estudiantes que puedan tener dificultades con cualquier cosa que esté sucediendo en sus vidas o que simplemente quieran que alguien los escuche. I’m Meredith, your registered nurse in an expanded role for the 2023-2024 school year. I have been a nurse for 7 years in a variety of positions, focusing on trauma informed care and harm reduction. I am relatively new to SF having moved here from Indianapolis Indiana last year with my two pups. I look forward to getting to know everyone.
