The cheapest and the latest budget phone by Nokia is here – Nokia 2. This phone is expected to be available in the Indian market sometime in mid-November. Nokia 2 will be the company’s most affordable Android phone till date with a great battery and some cool features. A few highlights of this device will be a massive 2-day battery, a 5-inch HD screen, great looks and smooth performance with Android Nougat. Its speculated that this Nokia 2 will be a worthy budget smartphone for the masses loaded in every department.

Nokia 2 Specs and Features

Nokia 2 is the perfect device for those looking for a great budget phone with decent specs. The phone is 9.30-mm thin and has a sturdy construction. It looks quite stylish with analuminum metal frame made out of series 6000 aluminum and has a sculpted polycarbonate back. The matte finish at the back and the compact design offers the device with agreeable ergonomics and is simply perfect for one hand use. The Nokia 2 looks and feels solid and looks like an expensive phone.

This device is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 212 processor, and has 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage which can be expanded up to 128GB using the microSD card slot.

The display is a 5 –inch HD screen with 1,280 x 720 pixel LCD display which is pretty decent in this price range. The display is covered with Gorilla Glass 3 for protection against nicks and scratches.

This device runs Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box — with Google Assistant. There will also be the option to get search results in Hindi. The voice assistant system has been featured for the first time in the budget phone segment. The smartphone will come with LTE 4G support.

Connectivity options featured in Nokia 2 are dual SIM (GSM + GSM), GPS, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, USB, 3G and 4G. It also sports a few integrated sensors including compass, magnetometer, accelerometer and ambient light sensor.

Nokia 2 houses an 8-megapixel primary camera on the rearwith auto-focus camera and automatic scene detection as well as LED flash. The front facing 5-megapixel camera is perfect for some decent selfies. The Nokia 2 offers unlimited photo and video uploads to Google Photos and thins is an excellent deal for a budget smartphone

Under the hood the Nokia 2 is powered by a massive 4100mAh battery that will easily get you two days' worth of battery life with almost 5 hours of screen time every day. The Snapdragon 212 chipset doesn't offer Quick Charge, so you'll be have to give anything between two to two-and-a-half hours for charging the battery. But this is compensated by the fact that you do not need to charge this phone quite as often.

Nokia 2 Release Date

HMD Global, the makers of Nokia made its first India-exclusive launch in the month of October with the Nokia 2. The USP of the launch event in New Delhi was a hands-on session on a moving metro train was the fact that this is a phone for the masses. The phone is going to hit the shelves in mid- November 2017.

The phone will be available in Black, White and Copper colour options.The price for Indian markets has is not exactly known yet, the Nokia 2 might be priced something between Rs 6,000 to Rs 6,500.
