With the world of social media growing more every day, a journalist needs to stay up with everything that goes on. At South Panola, our Tiger TV group uses many platforms such as YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, and Facebook to deliver our content across our community and school district. We also use our websites to help grow the interest in journalism in our school and district. With the help of these platforms, we have grown our journalism club from having only 30 people tryout to roughly 150 students audition for a spot the past two years. As Co-Executive Producer, I help to run, manage, and post our content on all of these platforms.
We post both our daily and weekly broadcasts on YouTube every day for both the people at the high school, as well as for every school and student in the district. We created our channel in the middle of my junior year on January 12th, 2024, and we still use YouTube to post content every day. To the side are some more of my favorite segments that I have done for the past three years.

As TikTok is continually growing in popularity, I decided to create an account for Tiger TV at the beginning of this school year. I have used this platform to post our Spirit Day content, football hype videos, and other short-form content, and we have gained over 1,000 followers because of it.
Similar to TikTok, we created our Instagram account to post and share our shorter-form content on an additional platform. However, I also use Instagram to share our new intros for our broadcast every quarter, as well as our team-building events such as our Christmas and end-of-year parties.

We use our Tiger TV Facebook page to post important announcements about what is going on in sports, classrooms, and news in our school. We also use this account to post clips of content from our daily broadcasts because we can reach a wider age range of viewers on Facebook than we can on other platforms.

As South Panola's media group, Tiger TV also runs our school district's Facebook page. We use this account to post announcements and shoutouts that are for all six schools in our district. This is also one way that we gather news and information to use in our weekly broadcasts about what is going on across the district.
