About Me
My name is Gabriella Russo, and I am a senior at South Panola High School in Batesville, Mississippi. I have been a member of our journalism team, Tiger TV, since my sophomore year, and I am currently the Co-Executive Producer. I help create content and deliver announcements for our daily broadcasts, as well as write scripts, film and edit news/sports stories, and anchor our weekly Friday productions. I was also the Sports Media Manager my junior year where I led our team to create engaging sports stories and hype videos, as well as gather quality content at all sporting events in the district. This program has brought me so much joy and has given me friends like family. I have learned so much from my three years at Tiger TV, and I can't wait to use what I have learned.
In addition to my broadcast journalism pursuits, I am a captain of my school's cross country and track team and a 6A track & field state champion. Additionally, I am a member of my school's swim team, the senior class representative of my school's student council, a two-time NCA national school cheerleading champion, and a member of multiple honor societies and community service clubs. I am also valedictorian of my class and this year's Miss SPHS. I also participate in all-star cheerleading at my gym, Southaven Wildcats, in Southaven, MS. Next year, I plan to attend Mississippi State University.

This was my first ever football game that I worked on the sideline, and I knew right then that it was where I was supposed to be. When I chose not to continue to be on the cheer team, I thought that I would never see Friday nights the same way. However, through my sideline football media crew, I have enjoyed the game in a way I never have before.
Here is our entire media team at the 2024 Mississippi Scholastic Press Association convention in Oxford, MS. Our team has grown to become a family to me, and I love getting to be a leader and example to such an amazing group of people.
One thing I love the most about broadcast journalism is getting to be in front of the camera and tell the whole district what is going on in our community. Here is a picture of me filming our first broadcast for the 24-25 school year on the new turf at Dunlap Stadium.
