Broadcast journalism is the most important aspect of journalism that we do in Tiger TV. Whether I am a news or sports anchor, delivering daily announcements, creating news, sports, or feature stories, or making fun segments for our daily broadcasts, I love the opportunity to show my personality and charisma on camera. In today's world, information and news are constantly changing, so it is important to be able to deliver news effectively and efficiently. As a member and officer of Tiger TV, I feel that our media group accomplishes just that.
This video was one of the first broadcasts that I ever did during my sophomore year. This was a daily broadcast where I read announcements for our entire high school. I also did the content for this video too where I was the commentator for a 1 versus 1 basketball game. Creating this broadcast will always be memorable for me because I finally had the confidence to film and edit an entire broadcast by myself, and this video is when I knew that I had a love for journalism.
This is the most recent broadcast that I did where I was the in-studio sports anchor. It is amazing to see how far I have come not only as a reporter, but also as a editor, leader, and journalist. We filmed this video in our local square in Batesville, MS.
This is my Senior In-Studio Sports Anchor real that shows off my best clips throughout this year. As an extroverted person, I love to be on camera and talk about sports that I am passionate about. I have truly learned so much from reporting from learning how to have a good posture and stance to making sure my voice comes across as clear and full of energy.
These five videos are all intros that I have made during my time on Tiger TV. Each one is unique, creative, and fun to make in their own way. I personally love to make intros for our broadcasts as it gets to show off who each of us are and it creates a enthusiastic energy to start off every broadcast that we create.
This segment was one of my all-time favorites to make, but also one of the most challenging. This video was challenging because I wanted to be able to capture the excitement and love that she had for her character development and anti-bullying campaign, while still making sure the importance of the message was delivered, and I feel like I achieved that goal. This story was special to me because I got to work with someone that I look up to and get to share her story with our whole community. As someone who also competes in pageants, I loved getting to show how much she cared, and how much the kids at the elementary school loved her.
In addition to weekly broadcasts, we also do daily videos for announcements and content for our high school. This video is my most recent one, and it was an exciting one for me as it was also my 18th birthday.
This segment was a story that I did at our high school's annual Trunk or Treat night for Halloween. I love getting to show off how creative and entertaining our school is and the excitement of the children too.
This was my first weekly broadcast from my junior year and was the first one of the entire school too. Our entire media group watched us film this broadcast, so I was thrilled to use the opportunity to be a leader and teach the new members how to speak on camera.
Survivor Remake
This was one of my all-time favorite daily segments that I have created, as I am an avid Survivor fan, and I thought it would be creative and fun to recreate. This segment was my first take at doing longer form game/reality show content. It was at first challenging to make because I had to learn to adapt to split-second decisions that were made as I only had one take to film it. This segment has become one of our school's favorites to watch, and I have plans to make another season later this year.
