Freddie has a huge crash on a downtown street and is on the verge of death, but heals up the night after the incident. A pastor named Dave then visits him, stating it was God that healed him.

Dave decides to separate Freddie from his parents due to his thoughts of them being a bad influence on Freddie. Freddie as well as Katherine and Lucas meet this with resistance.
