I’m locking in Air Heads as my prediction for this year. Full review for #VooDew2023 here: [link to this page] @MountainDew #MountainDew #VooDew5

Yesterday Curtis and I were doing some Halloween shopping, and at one point we decided to take a break and stop by 7-11. Lo and behold, there we found the perfect refreshment for the occasion. VooDew #5 is here!

Curtis took a sip first, and I asked him how it was. He didn’t even pause to think about it before answering “Starburst.”

I was surprised to hear this considering that VooDew #3 had already been revealed to be Starburst. (I still think that one tasted more like Sweet Tarts, but whatever.) However, once I took a sip myself, I immediately understood why Curtis had said that. If it weren’t for VooDew #3, I’m pretty sure that Starburst would have been my guess as well.

After sleeping on it, I’ve decided to go with Air Heads as my prediction. It’s definitely a fruity candy, and Air Heads are the next closest thing to Starburst that I can think of.

Whatever the mystery flavor this year may be, it’s certainly a good one. It doesn’t have that sour bite to it like the last couple of VooDew flavors did, which I do miss, but it’s still very delicious and does a great job of being a candy-flavored Dew. VooDew #4 was a masterpiece, so that one remains my favorite VooDew, but I think this one is my 2nd favorite now.

Also, I’m pretty proud of this bottle photo I took on the McCarthy’s patio.

Note: McCarthy's is a local bar where our friend group hangs out.
