Army & Navy

Warriors of the Southern Water Tribe used an array of weapons along with vehicles such as boats to fight of invaders.

Infantry

All the tribe's men and some of their women (as shown in North and South were fully trained warriors. After the capture of all their benders, in the later stages of the war, they moved to having a totally non-bender army.

Navy

As with their army, their navy disbanded too. In the later stages of the war, the Southern water Tribe possessed only 5 cutter sailing ships, which are used for ice dodging (information on the Southern Water Tribe page) and Warfare.

Weaponry

Armour and Protection

Shield- In day of the black sun, all the Water Tribe invaders were seen holding Hexagonal, Blue and White shields.

Wolf Helmets- Southern Water Tribers wear wolf helmets to protect their heads when in battle.

Greaves and Bracers- These are upper body and leg armours.

Hand-to-hand-combat

Battle Club- Battle Clubs are used for hand to hand combat in the Southern water Tribe

Jaw Blade- Jaw Blades are used primarily for hunting. The sharp bit is made of sharpened animal teeth.

Machete- Often used to cut away vines in jungle of forest environments.

Long-range combat

Boomerang- Boomerangs are used a lot in the Southern Water Tribe. Sokka was given one by his father, before he left to fight in the earth Kingdom.

Bow and Arrows- Bow and Arrows were seen stockpiled in Gilak's hideout.
