"Sifting Through the Schulwerk"
Though seemingly unapproachable to some at first glance, there is an incredible wealth of opportunity contained in the materials created by Orff and Keetman. Through a series of process-based activities, participants will further discover the potential contained in these pieces and exercises. The workshop will explore applications for pre-primary through middle school classrooms, with a special focus on finding opportunities for the inclusion of each activity in your grade level curricula.

"Dance On! Folk Dancing to Enhance Your Teaching and School Climate"
Through folk dancing, we will explore ways that dance can be used to teach general music standards, to enhance social and emotional learning, and to build community. Session will include traditional American set dances and a toolkit of tips and tricks, all aimed at getting students up and dancing — quickly, easily, and joyfully.
In her 20 years of school residencies, Sue has danced with tens of thousands of school children. This artist-in-residence career grew out of the skills she gained from over a decade as an elementary music teacher. Now, she travels to shares her expertise as an educator and dance leader, presenting workshops and clinics for teachers.
