God showed his power that day when He made the sun stay up so that Joshua could defeat the enemies. God hasn't shown His power in this exact same way since then, but He does show us His power in many other ways. One of those ways is when He allowed His Son, Jesus Christ to die on the cross for our sins. God didn't have to let Jesus die. It hurt God very much to see His Son in pain. But God showed His power by letting Jesus die, because then God raised Jesus from the dead. And He did all this so you and I can have eternal life in heaven when we trust Jesus as our Savior.
