Can you imagine how scared Miriam was when she was watching Moses float in the river? She might have thought that the soldiers that were killing boy babies might appear and kill her brother. She might have thought that some river animal might come and turn the basket over and Moses would drown. But God had another plan from Miriam's fears, He sent the Pharaoh's own daughter to rescue Moses. She picked him up, snuggled with the baby and declared that he would be her baby and be raised in the Pharaoh's house. Imagine how scary it was for Miriam to jump up and tell the Pharaoh's daughter she knew of someone who could nurse the baby. Miriam then ran to tell her mother the good news that Moses was safe.
