2025 FIREWISE COMMITTEE REPORT:
- Assessments: We now have 21 properties who had a Free Defensible space and Home Hardening assessment, becoming closer to being Firewise. Please contact us to get your free assessment!
- Owners doing fuel reduction: We are seeing many properties who have taken steps to become Firewise and to learn how you can do it to, head to our Skyliner Summit Firewise site.
- Common area fuel reduction: We have done fuel reduction in a large common area along Skyliners Road and went door to door to speak with owners and encourage Firewise work.
- Dumpsters: We have brought free 2 free dumpsters on site and you filled them up in one day!
- Grants: We have participated in grant programs and while it is getting competitive due to the increasing number of Firewise communities, we are happy to report that we got another grant to get a full week of dumpsters in the Spring of 2026. It will be 4x30 cubic yards!
- ARC Guidelines: To better reflect the increased need to have our neighborhood be fire resilient, we have worked with the Board on adding language in the ARC that reflects Firewise standards.
- Firewise Renewal application and new 3-year action plan: While we are in good standing with Firewise, after 3 years, it was time to renew our Action Plan. Your Firewise Committee met and worked on the plan keeping in mind the 3 main areas of focus: Education, Fuel reduction in the 0-5 feet zone, Planting fire resistant vegetation. You have suggestions? Pass them along to us!
- Recognition: Our committee would like to recognize one of Skyliner Summit's subdivision: Arrowhead 1 owners have done a great job in 2025, engaging all 20 owners in doing fuel reduction and installing 1/8" mesh on all the vents! Bravo!
