Did you know that during a wildfire, the majority of home are ignited by embers?
Any dry fuel in the 0-5 feet will ignite if embers fall on it.
What is Ladder fuel? Any dry debris under a bush near your house or on your roof, or under your wooden fences.
Ladder fuel in the 0-5 feet zone around your house increases the probability of your house burning down.
Most of Skyliner Summit Neighborhood was landscaped with vegetation right against houses. See below for images of what happens if vegetation and debris are in the 0-5 feet zone. Find list of flammable plants that need to be removed as well as a list of Fire Resistant plants.

Often, debris, dead leaves, needles accumulate at the foot or inside the bush. It is hard to clean but easy for embers to find their way to this dry fuel and get the fire going.
Remove Highly Flammable plants in the 0-5 feet zone around your house.
Note: if your fence is attached to the house and your highly flammable tree/bush is against the fence, then this is considered the 0-5 feet zone since the

Fire resistant plants are a better choice but you still need to make sure that no debris accumulate, that you limb them if necessary and that they are not touching roof or vents
