Know and understand the evacuation levels.
A lot of neighborhoods in Bend do not have many exit/evacuation routes. Take that into account when you make a decision to stay or leave.
Nathan Garibay recommends that, if it is possible for you to do so, don't wait until Level 3 to leave.
Evacuation levels are not based on "miles away" but on "time away" or how many houses need to be evacuated.
When you go, it's ok to lock your door. Putting a white cloth in a prominent place will help firefighters that everybody residing in the house is safe.

How could it be helpful?
You or your neighbor might have mobility issues .
You or your neighbor might not have a car or might not drive making evacuation difficult.
You or your neighbor have a lot of animals to evacuate
You or Your neighbors are away at work when it happens so you can devise a plan of what to do, who takes care of the animals for example.
