faithful service

The Unitarian Church of Hinsdale was founded soon after the village was incorporated in the early 1870s. The congregation built their own church in 1889. Frank Lloyd Wright’s uncle, Jenkin Lloyd Jones, spoke at the dedication. The wide Romanesque archway leads to a large foyer and an open worship space. Like all Unitarian churches at this time, the congregation was deeply engaged in progressive social causes, including the Hinsdale Fresh Air Association.
