The Graduate Student Association (GSA) was founded in 1941 and is regarded as an essential element of the Factor-Inwentash Faculty of Social Work (FIFSW) at the University of Toronto. It is associated with the Graduate Students’ Union (GSU) and includes all Master-level students enrolled in the FIFSW. Student representatives are named to the Faculty Council and its standing committees, as well as other broader, social work committees. 

Our role includes:

• Cultivating a community among students, faculty, staff and the social work field

• Representing and advocating for/with social work students in University matters

• Promoting linkages with social agencies

• Monitoring and evaluating social work education

• Planning extra-curricular activities throughout the year

• Welcoming and orienting students entering the Faculty
