Hi everyone! I’m Mathilde, the new Year 1 Student Representative on the GSA. Before starting my journey as an MSW student at UofT, I completed my undergraduate degree in Psychology at McGill University, graduating in 2023. After that, I took a year off to work and travel, during which I backpacked across Europe for four months. Some of my favourite memories include driving through the south of France in a minivan, working on a vineyard in the Italian countryside, and taking a hot air balloon ride at 4 a.m. to watch the sunrise over the stunning Turkish landscape. I’m really excited to represent all of you this year! If you have any questions, concerns, or ideas for the GSA, please don’t hesitate to approach me in the halls or send me a message. Hello! I am in my second year of the Indigenous Trauma & Resiliency MSW program. I am a newcomer to Canada from the U.S. and a mixed-heritage citizen of the Sault Ste Marie Tribe of Ojibwe in the U.S. I'm completing my studies remotely from Treaty 6, in Saskatoon, SK. When I'm not cranking away at school, practicum, and life, I'm usually found in a pile of craft supplies. Prior to finding my pull to an MSW, I worked in communications, organizing, and student affairs. Now that I'm an adult student, I'm grateful for the flexibility of a remote program. But to be real, it can be hard to form community and connection sometimes. I'm "here" this year to help connect our remote ITR cohorts and bridge that gap between our physical and virtual campuses.
