Welcome to the Internship Repository for the PUP College of Education, Pre-Service Teachers! This platform serves as a comprehensive resource hub, encompassing all essential documents essential for advisers and for the training of Pre-Service Teachers (PSTs).
Course Overview
As outlined in CMO 74, Field Study 1 serves as the initial experiential course, immersing the Pre-service Teacher (PST) in real classroom settings and learning environments. This facilitates direct observation of teaching-learning episodes, emphasizing the application of educational theories acquired in content and pedagogy courses. The focus extends to observations on learners' behavior, motivation, teachers' teaching strategies, classroom management, and assessment in learning. A portfolio is a mandatory component of this course.
Field Study 2 is the continuation of Field Study I. It is school-based, enabling the Pre-service Teacher to actively participate and assist in limited teaching-learning activities. These activities are relevant to the assessment of learning, preparation of instructional materials, arrangement of bulletin boards, and other classroom routines. The portfolio for this course must include sample lesson or learning plans, along with the demonstration of teaching in at least one subject content area. Encouragement is given to initiate an action research project during this course, which should be concluded during the internship.
Teaching Internship is the practical application of classroom learning in an actual work environment. During this internship, pre-service teachers engage in teaching activities, receive coaching and mentoring, and align their experiences with the learning continuity plan and the Most Essential Learning Competencies (MELCs). The goal is to prepare a new generation of teachers who can effectively teach in the post-COVID-19 learning environment.
