After a successful award debut in 2021, Connecting Cultures and C.L.A.S.S. have launched the second edition of Imagining Sustainable Fashion Award, the international competition for innovative models of communication in sustainable fashion. The competition invites stylists, photographers, designers, illustrators, artists and other creatives to rethink how to communicate the new generation of values of an ethical and sustainable fashion system. This open call will be judged by a high profile jury of international standing with an aim to create an aesthetic that defines a new ethic.
Why a prize for Imagining Sustainable Fashion?
The challenges facing the fashion industry today are many and complex. This competition will shine a spotlight on an industry in crisis and bring about a transformation so that sustainability, innovation, and style co-exist seamlessly; so that these important values are communicated to consumers; and so that people who are truly elevating sustainable fashion – on an aesthetic level and in terms of design and production – may be recognized and rewarded.
The Prize:
The winner will be announced in March 2022 and will receive a cash prize of €3,000.00.

The latest 3D innovations are blurring the lines between the digital and physical worlds, creating a Metaverse in which fashion professionals can design, develop, sample, and sell apparel in a virtual world before making the product. It benefits businesses, suppliers, consumers and the planet. For the 2021 event, Alvanon and MOTIF have selected 3D software companies at the forefront of these technologies. They will address the themes of Adopting 3D and Digital Product Creation (DPC), Digital Transformation and the Metaverse.
The conference will be divided into three key themes:
Adopting 3D and Digital Product Creation (DPC): practical ‘real world’ advice and expert insight on how we can adopt end-to-end digitalized product development and management strategies to survive and thrive.
Digital Transformation, Technology & Innovation: digital advances transforming the way the global fashion industry designs, produces, fits, sells, delivers and communicates with ALL stakeholders and consumers.
Welcome to the Metaverse: entering the virtual world of the metaverse has become a necessity for brands. Our speakers will bridge the gap between reality and digital, and digital and metaverse.

No matter where we are born of where we live, one thing remains the same: we all share this planet. Being a designer today is not only about creating beautiful things, it also means being aware of the process as a whole, from sketching to manufacturing to marketing, taking responsibility of the product life cycle. We ask that you explore the world that surrounds you both locally and globally. This means drawing on your own origins and background and comining it with influences and ieas inspired by other cultures, style and ways of life to create your responsible denim.
