Second Great Prairie War

         Prairie War II, also called the Second Great Prairie War or The October War was one of the largest wars in the History of the SPN, and the 2nd longest lasting. It was one of three wars that were so large and extensive to be considered "the Great Wars." It was fought between the Catxis Powers (UNSC, Truck Empire, Radtopia*,Grand Meowtopia, and Crimson Dusk*)  and the Allied Forces (United Federation, FWR, Despa, Valentino, Kettle Moraine, West Mendota, New Washburn, and Pyrrhia). The war, in just 3 hours after it's declaration, was already the largest and most expansive war in the History of the Sun Prairie Nations. Due to its size, composition, and scope, it has been named the Second Great Prairie War, after the first in March 2019.

         The war saw major advancements in both Naval and Air Combat, and a continuation of the growth of the Federation Battle Fleet. It also saw President Anderson of the Federation rise considerably in popularity, and surge even further forward after the war ended. It also saw a resurgence in anti-communist rhetoric, especially in the Federation where it had never been as prevalent. The war also hit hard on the UNSC's economy, a large part of why the nation surrendered.

       The largest battle in the War was the Battle of Morrisonville, which saw the Kettle Moraine Army, Air Force, and Navy launch a massive invasion into the north of the Occupied Federation, in order to liberate the UFP. The major theatres of war were the Central Theatre, involving the Truck Empire, the Federation, New Washburn, Valentino, Crimson Dusk, and the UNSC's Centralian Province, the Northern Theatre, with Grand Meowtopia, Kettle Moraine, the FWR, UFP, and CDR, and the Southern Theatre, with the UNSC and the Federation being the largest players.  On the water, the decisive Battle of Governor's Cape ended the UNSC and the Catxis Power's chances of delaying an invasion, and after the Battles of New Glarus and Fitchburg, the UNSC's army was shattered and surrendered. 

 Overall, the war was largely between the UFP's sphere of influence and the UNSC's sphere of influence. All Communist Countries in the SPN, the UNSC, Radtopia, Soviet Crimson, the Truck Empire, and Grand Meowtopia sided with the UNSC, while most other countries sided with the allies. Most of the allies were democratic capitalist nations, such as the United Federation or the Central Despan Republic. 

Buildup

      Feeling as though they had been given nothing in exchange for leaving the Broalition and making peace in the last war, the U.N.S.C. was already primed for revenge. In addition, it was largely put off by the expansion of the Federation and FWR. Grand Meowtopia, founded by refugees of the Garfean Nations, were now being stirred by anti-Union sentiment. Radtopia was increasing it's ties to the U.N.S.C. And in the Federation, the Republicats Party had begun to gain much influence.

      The largest states in the Republicats Party declared independence as the Truck Empire, and with it's allies the UNSC, Grand Meowtpia, and Radtopia declared war on the United Federation.

Initial Battles 

       At the outbreak of war the UNSC Navy surprise-attacked the Federation's Waubesa Battle Squadron in port, heavily damaging the USS Calvin Petri and the USS Zachary Feldman. Following the opening of the sea to their full control, the Catxis Powers blitzkrieged through the Southwestern Federation, with a large portion of the Army being trapped and under siege in Janesville. The war was only 4 hours old. 

      After the initial invasion, the West Mendotan Republic and the Federal Wisconsinite Republic joined the war, forming with the Federation the Allied Forces. A counterattack by the FWR and WMR was stalled. 

      The Grand Meowtopian and UNSC Combined Fleet formed a task force of large cruisers, with the flagship being the Silverado. This fleet attempted to push into the Federation in the south, and was met by the 34th battle squadron of the Federation First Fleet. Despite destroying the Silverado, the Allies suffered a major defeat, but were able to hold the advance as both sides dug in along the East Hill. 

Allied Northern Offensive

      On the 24th of October, the Allies launched a major offensive into Grand Meowtopia. The Despan Forces, launching from their province in Sheboygan, pushed west, the F.W.R. and Crimson Dusk pushed through the center, and the Federation pushed north toward the Capital City of Friesland. At the Battle of Beaver Dam the FWR defeated the garrison of Meowtopian Troops, leaving the roads open to the nothern border of the nation. In the West, the Federation and Crimson Dusk had failed to push as fast as the FWR, due to their heavier artillery and a delayed airstrike in support. However, at the Battle of Doylestown, the Federation handily surrounded the finest of the Meowtopian Troops. After the Despan Offensive in the North, the Meowtopian troops began to crumble, as the east was far less fortified. they gathered around in a small hold-out of Kettle Moraine. at 7:47 PM Kettle Moraine fell, and Grand Meowtopia surrendered just 3 minutes later.

CeaSE-FIRe

      On the 25th of October, after the successful invasion of Grand Meowtopia, the UNSC and Truck Empire requested a temporary Cease-fire until the following Monday. At approximately 10:45, October 27 the UNSC attempted an assassination of G. Admiral John Banks-George. The Federation responded by breaking the ceasefire and launching a full invasion of Occupied Nickeragua and secessionist Meowtopia. 

Invasion of Nickeragua and Meowtopia

      The initial stages of the invasion saw the secessionists put up a brave resistance, sinking several Allied ships along the Yahara River. However, the Battle of Cherokee Marsh put an end to any militia navy resistance, and the Meowtopians were effectively split in half. At the battle of South Windsor, the Federation pushed through the lines and charged towards the Catpitol, the city that was the home of the state's secessionist government. At the Battle of Catpitol City, the Federation retook the city, and the Meowtopian Secessionists were toppled. After this, Kekistan was Liberated after the secessionist government was overthrown in a coup, and parts of Delta were invaded. After these successes, the Republic of Valentino joined the war effort on the Allied Side.

Surrender of Truck Empire

      After the loss of Delta, Meowtopia, Nickeragua, and Kekistan, the remaining government of the Truck Empire surrendered to the Allies at 10:52 AM on the 28th of October. The UNSC opted to fight on. 

Invasion of the U.F.P.

       For a week, the UNSC continued it's invasion into the Federation, until at the Battle of Queen's Hill, the Federation's best troops were encircled and destroyed. President Anderson and the UFP Cabinet fled to the Central Despan Republic and the Federation was occupied. 

        Following this, the occupation zones of Grand Meowtopia united to create the Federative Republic of Kettle Moraine, and pledged their support to the Allied Powers.

Operation Triton Spear

        Without notifying the allied governments, on the 13th of November, Kettle Moraine launched a naval, air, and land offensive into the north of the Federation. At the Battle of Morrisonville, the Kettle Moraine Battle Fleet beat the heavily-stressed-thin UNSC forces and were able to retake Patriam, Columbus, New Canada, Bottistan, the north of Windsor, and New West Virginia.

      President Monday of West Mendota critisized the move initially, but later stated that "I Understand," saying that Kettle Moraine would have to notify the allies in the future. Advances continued to the north of Windsor and Boottistan, and reached the border of Radtopia. 

       With newfound allied support, Kettle Moraine and the Federation Resistance successfully fought the UNSC out of the Occupied Federation. The Operation cost Kettle Moraine 3 aircraft, 2 frigates and a destroyer, and cost the Federation Resistance 40 small aircraft.

Invasion of the UNSC

      After liberating most of the United Federation, the Allies launched a two front invasion of the UNSC. The Federation's new and mass-produced Manila Bay-class Frigates were a key part of the new invasion. These ships, while advanced, were also relatively simple and could be easily mass produced. 

      On Lake Waubesa, the Federation Navy engaged the UNSC's Valentino Sea Squadron. The USS Castle Rock Lake and USS Eastside led the missile squadron, using the Federation's most advanced Patriarch II missiles to destroy most of the UNSC's Frigates. 

Later, the decisive Battle of Governor's Cape, the largest naval battle up to that point in the SPN's history, and the largest Battleship-on-Battleship fight ever, would end in an unprecedented and decisive Victory over what remained of the UNSC's Navy. Sinking or capturing all of the fleet but the carrier UNSC Invincible, it ended any hope of a prolonged Naval campaign that would delay the Allied Invasions. 

       At the Battle of Tackenston, the United Federation Starfleet, led by the USS Champion's Hill defeated a UNSC battle squadron led by the UNSC Cornhole. This battle caused the UNSC forces to retreat, and the Federation pushed through a quarter of the UNSC's territory. 

Surrender of the UNSc

      Eventually, with allied forces only blocks away from the Capitol of the UNSC, General Secretary and Supreme Leader Rydon Foldhazi officially resigned his command and fled the capital. On the 9th of December the General of Command Luke Gainey ordered his forces to stand down, and on the 10th of December, the Treaty of Fitchburg was signed by the belligerent forces, which finally ended the War.

Effects of the War

       With the signing of the Treaty of Fitchburg, several major changes were implemented, most importantly, the disbandment of the UNSC and the outlawing of all forms of warfare save naval combat, classical aircraft combat, and ground warfare.  In addition, the balance of power shifted greatly, with the Federation further invigorated by it's victory, and West Mendota growing to further prominence. 

     In politics, the war being won by President Anderson of the Union Party led to the Union Party jumping greatly in the electoral polls taken for the 2020 January Elections, with Union Candidate Calvin Petri reaching majorities in every state. In the FWR, President Ashton Eull became the President of the Republic after Caden Schwartz was impeached, and the war being won solidified his term in office. 

      In international relations, many different aspects shifted from the end of the FIrst Great Prairie War. The first was that the occupations of enemy territory was greatly reduced in time, and supplies from the Allied Powers were shipped into these areas, in order to make the former countries of the Catxis Powers look more favorably on the Allies. Five countries were made from the Former UNSC, with one, the United Manonan States, joining SPATO two days after it's creation. This war also even further increased the bond between the U.F.P. and Despa, which has been called in the past the "Special Relationship."
