Federal Wisconsinite Republic

        The Federal Wisconsinite Republic, often named by it's initialization, the FWR, is a Representative Federal Republic, consisting of 24 States, and numerous exterior colonies and territories. One of the most important nations in the Sun Prairie Nations virtually since it's inception, the FWR was a member of the Allied Powers in all three Great Prairie Wars, and maintained one of the most powerful militaries the SPN has ever seen. 

The Federal Wisconsinite Republic was founded by Caden A. Schwartz as a secessionist republic, splitting from the Republic of Despa with full approval from that government. A Republic that has a unique style of Government, the F.W.R. is led by an elected President, with elections taking place when public referendum demands it. These elections take place under an electoral college system, with states receiving votes in the system depending on their population. In reality, Waterloo and Milwaukee highly outweigh the other states, a factor which, among others, became a leading cause of the Wisconsinite Civil War.

The F.W.R., from it's inception, has been a highly industrial society, primarily driven by a military culture which can verge on all-consuming at times. Quickly rising to the status of a Great Power, it has been a Superpower since the end of Prairie War II. With a proud tradition of ground dominance, the Wisconsinite Army has historically been considered the most advanced and the most proud in the SPN. The Wisconsinite Luftwaffe, the air force of the country, is also advanced, and at one point boasted the largest operational fleet in the Sun Prairie Nations, one of the primary drivers of the immediate post-war tension between the F.W.R. and the United Federation. In contrast, the Wisconsinite Navy, while occasionally it has boasted advanced ships and fleets, is almost always far smaller than those of other powers, and the nation is highly reliant on foreign contractors for it's naval construction. 

The F.W.R. was one of the nations attacked by the Holy Roman Empire during the Imperial War, successfully defending itself from major incursions, before Caden Schwartz returned to the Presidency following trial. When Ryan Madden used Nuclear Weapons against the Federation's people in the Circles Crisis, the Federal Wisconsinite Republic joined the United Manonan States in the initial war effort, forging an important bond between the two nations which lasted throughout the war. During the invasion of the F.W.R. by the renamed Imperial 4th Reich, the nation suffered from a nuclear strike against Waterloo City and major sieges to Portland, Milwaukee, and other major cities. Though it sustained almost no civilian casualites thanks to Operation Emerson, it's army lost nearly half of it's fighting force in the half-a-month for which the invasion lasted. 

Following Prairie War III, as one of the victorious powers, the F.W.R. helped to occupy the Federation, but itself required as much, if not more, rebuilding of industry with the Federation. Aid from West Mendota and the United Manonan States continue to shape the country today. 

Significant debate has arisen as to whether or not the Federal Wisconsinite Republic is still considered a superpower, due to the destruction of major industry. It maintains a large Navy, the largest in it's history, thanks to wartime aid and post-war surplus of the Manonan Navy, and is slowly returning to it's own industrial prowess. 

History

       During early April of 2019, the Great Prairie War was at it's height. The Federation, which had been the main target of the Broalition, was taking heavy losses to it's cruiser fleets, and was suffering economically at a level that was unheard of since the Federation Civil War. As this was happening, Despa, Valentino, Dauntless, and Crimson Dusk were starting to adapt to a Wartime Economy, which placed their GDP ahead of the Federation's. Caden Schwarz, a Captain in the Republic of Despa Airfleet saw an opportunity, and founded the Federal Wisconsinite Republic in order to aid the Federation and it's allies in the struggle. 

       Following the War, the Federal Wisconsinite Republic held it's first elections, in which Caden Schwarz was elected to be the nation's first president. Caden Schwartz, the Founder, then embarked on a massive armament program to make his new nation a superpower. 

      This program initially focused heavily on acquiring Whirlwind-class Light Frigates, however, the FWR did experiment with their own designs for a time. With the creation and official release of the Oskaloosa-class Heavy Cruiser, the FWR became the first foreign nation to purchase the ship in bulk, ordering 42 on the first count. Soon after, the FWR Luftwaffe acquired nearly 50 old UFP Frigates from the Federation Surplus fleet. This brought their air force to the third largest, and debatably the most well-equipped, in the Sun Prairie Nations. 

       In addition, the FWR Navy built up an advanced fleet of warships. These included the Reagan-class Battleship, the Bush-class Aircraft Carrier, the Washington-class Destroyer, and the Kennedy-class Submarine. The fleet is relatively small, but is considered by most pundits to be highly advanced. However, it is lacking in smaller coastal defense vessels.

       During the Second Great Prairie War, the FWR Joined the allies as the third member of the alliance. However, President Caden Schwartz was impeached and was removed from office, being replaced by Vice President Ashton Eull. In the election of December 2019, the Federal Wisconsinite Republic re-elected Caden Schwartz by a massive margin, making him the president once again.

      On the 6th of January, the Federal Wisconsinite Battleship FWS Missouri was deployed to the Centralia Canal, and created an international crisis as it's authority over the canal spat in the face of Valentinian Sovereignty. This was a major escalation in the rising tensions between the two nations. However, the countries soon both began to cool their relationship, exemplified when, under Federation President Jacob Monday, the Federal Wisconsinite Republic joined SPATO. 

       After the F.W.R. joined SPATO, John Banks-George was elected as it's 6th President in the absence of Caden Schwartz, who had been elected as the 15th Federation President. The Administration of John Banks-George focused heavily on the expansion of the FWR's economy and upkeep, with a notable change in space policy with the FWR joining Project Challenger. 

Government

        The Federal Wisconsinite Republic has two types of territorial divisions; Territories, which do not have direct representation, and States, which do. 

      The president of the F.W.R. is elected by popular vote, with elections based on the Popular Mandate system. When a majority of the citizens approve of an election vote, the election is called, meaning that Presidents have no term limits.
