Caden Schwartz

          Caden Arthur Schwartz is a Wisconsinite and Federation Politician, Statesman, and military commander who is best known for being the Founder, First, Fourth, and Sixth President of the Federal Wisconsinite Republic, and the 15th President of the United Federation. On the 24th of October, 2020, Schwartz became the first President since Ainsley Wall to win a second consecutive term in office, breaking 36 months of one-term-tradition. This has already won Schwartz wide acclaim and many (including Schwartz himself) have likened him to former President Nicholas Lapord. His political brand and major upset of the establishment, known as the Schwartz Revolution, was a defining moment in Federation Politics, and highlighted one of the final golden eras of the Sun Prairie Nations before the Long Recess. 

       During his tenure he served five terms as the President of the F.W.R., three of which were direct elections, the first being an appointment as interim after the Founding of the Nation. He served from the 3rd of April 2019 to the 2nd of December 2019, then was re-elected on the 28th of December. During his tenure, Schwartz built the FWR from a minor outskirt of Federation and Despan influence to a fully fledged superpower and a major force in the SPN, rivaled only by Despa and the Federation. 

After the failure of the Holy Roman Empire in the Imperial War, Schwartz returned to the Federal Wisconsinite Republic and was re-elected it's President. Upon the nuclear bombardment of the Circles Revolt by Ryan Madden, Schwartz joined with John Banks-George of the United Manonan States and Alexander Oehrlein of Despa to denounce the action and demand Madden's resignation. The F.W.R. became the 2nd Nation to declare war on Madden's Federation, soon to become the Imperial 4th Reich, just minutes after the United Manonan States. Schwartz led the F.W.R. through it's darkest hours, as it's metropolitan landmass was occupied by the Reich, eventually on to liberation and victory. 

Schwartz has also, somewhat controversially, been involved in the most court cases of any modern member of the Sun Prairie Nations, beginning with his Impeachment Trial in the F.W.R. and one where he was found guilty of War Crimes ("Absolute Imperialism" and "Invasion without Just Cause") during the Imperial war. These crimes were considered serious at the time, but pale in comparison to those committed over the coming months by Madden's government. 

      His ascendancy to the Federation Presidency followed a long string of failed runs for the office. With the support of his newly founded and broadly popular Conservative Party, and pledges to bolster the economy and massively increase the military, Schwartz was ushered in in a landslide election, soundly defeating Union Nominee Alex Knebel. 

        Schwartz's Presidency largely followed the policies of his friend and former opponent, Jacob Monday, for the first month. However, despite the slow start, around halfway through his presidency, he began to branch off, by working in the Prairie Union to create the Prairie Union Space Agency and being one of the most vocal supporters of the Union Space Shuttle Program, personally proposing two names for the orbiters. Schwartz also made a major change to Federation State Militias, re-organizing all into the United Federation National Guard. This was at first controversial, but was seen by Schwartz as a necessary change to make the militias more effective and more safe in action. In addition, he also created the United Federation Postal Service, and replaced the Navy's aging frigate force.

       Towards the end of his presidency, Schwartz attempted to use a loophole in the Federation Constitution in order to run for a third term. The debate centered around the 2 term rule in the Old Constitution, which was not re-adopted in the Second Constitution. However, the Old Constitution had been upheld in legal precedent before, and so the State of New Illinois sued the Schwartz 2021 campaign, which was delegated to the Supreme Court as "New Illinois v. Schwartz 2021." The court case  ended in a defeat for Schwartz, with Chief Justice Tucker's majority opinion stating, among more legitimate legal observations, "Schwartz, you can't run again."

Early Career

         Schwartz had no previous experience in politics when he created the FWR, during the First Great Prairie War. He did so to assist the Allies in the war, and secretly hoped to receive military and economic aid from them in order to make his new nation into a superpower. From the formation of the FWR to the end of the War, Caden Schwartz was the interim President, which is counted as his first term in office due to the FWR's "People's Mandate" election system. During this time he was extremely active in military affairs, being promoted to the ceremonial rank of Commodore in the Federation Fleet.

        After the end of the War, President Schwartz was unanimously elected to a full term under the Mandate System. The Mandate System dictates that the President faces an election when the People of the Federal Wisconsinite Republic so decide, often at 3-4 month intervals, but can be called at any point. 

     Once he had secured a complete electoral victory, President Schwartz began a massive armament program in the F.W.R, building up the Navy with designs such as the Reagan-class Battleship and the Lincoln-class Carrier. He also purchased large numbers of Whirlwind Frigates from Jacob Eiden and Oskaloosa-class Cruisers from Gateway in order to strengthen the Air Force. In addition, the F.W.R. became the largest customer of Federation Surplus aircraft, building up large numbers of Attack Frigates and Light Cruisers from ships that had served with the Fed previously. A short while after this The FWR was Caught in conflict Against the FSW (Federal Separatist Wisconsinites) in which the one nuclear bomb was used, as the first nuke ever in a war in SPN history. 

        Caden Schwartz won a third term and his second election by a slimmer, but still wide, margin over his opponent and Vice President Ashton Eull. During his third term he continued to strengthen the Air Force, but decommissioned several naval vessels after they were damaged too far beyond the nation's repair capacity in a fire. He instead opted to purchase ships from Gateway, which led to the Naval Arms Race between the Fed and the F.W.R., ultimately resulting in an extremely short skirmish between the FWS New Dodge and the USS Carson Clumpner. 

       As the Second Great Prairie War began, the Federal Wisconsinite Republic became the second nation, after West Mendota, to officially side with the United Federation. It's air force played a pivotal role in many battles, and it arguably had the largest success in the Northern Campaign into Grand Meowtopia. However, Schwartz was caught up in a scandal, as he had asked for John Banks-George to "silence at all costs" Ryan Madden, an enemy of the State, while he was on Federation Soil. For this, he was impeached and removed from office by the Federal Wisconsinite Senate. Ashton Eull became President for one term during a majority of the month of December.

        In the elections held on the 28th of December, 2019, Caden Schwartz was re-elected despite the scandal to a solid fourth term by an even wider margin than before. He reversed many of the neutrality acts from the previous administration, and brought the fleet numbers of the Air Force up to 690, the largest active force in the history of the SPN at that time. 

        He also brought the Federal Wisconsinite Republic into SPATO, joining the alliance as a means of further protection from the Federal Separatist Wisconsinites and in order to further the bonds with the United Federation and Despa. Schwartz later created the Federalist party of the UFP, just before he announced his bid for the president of the United Federation in the April 2020 election. 

       Though he made a much larger showing than predicted, Schwartz lost the April election. However, he made major impacts on many and most importantly, he sparked additional name recognition. In the July 2020 Elections, Schwartz managed a major landslide victory, soundly defeating Union Party challenger Alex Knebel.
