Role: ex-President of the United Federation, Premier of the UNSC, Senator for Rydonia
Rank: Commander in Chief, UNSC, Fleet Commodore, United Federation
Party Affiliation: Defender Party
Rydon Kade Foldhazi is a United Federation politician, historian, and military leader who is most famous for his service as both the 16th President of the United Federation, and the 1st and Only Premier of the Old and New UNSC. He was previously the Senator for Rydonia, representing the state's 3rd Congressional District in the State Council and the At-Large Councilor for Rydonia on the High Command. Foldhazi previously ran unsuccessfully for the Presidency on four seperate occasions, before winning the Presidency as declared on the morning of January 26th 2021. After the nuclear bombardment of the Circles Revolt by Ryan Madden, Foldhazi brought the new UNSC into the Allied Powers and was an integral member of the United Federation Government-in-Exile, the democratic state-in-being that represented the Federation in the Allied Council.
Before becoming President, Rydon Foldhazi has been a long-time Senator for the state which he founded, Rydonia. He was one of the first members of the Republicats Party, and was it's first Presidential Nominee, later being nominated 2 additional times, and then later being nominated by the Defender party twice, making him the only person to run for president 5 times, the most of any person. He is the first and only member of the Defender Party to win the presidency.
His actual tenure as president was highly uneventful, perhaps even more so than previous presidents such as Jacob Eiden or Calvin Petri. During his two terms (his second being won in a large percentage) he was relatively popular, but did not propose a single piece of legislation, nor did his party. This was largely a result of the Long Recess, a period of economic and cultural stagnation primarily brought on by the Covid-19 pandemic. He eventually was succeeded as President by Ethan Flood, the Union Party Senator for New Alaska.
Foldhazi is also the Current and former premier of the New UNSC and the original U.N.S.C., being largely responsible for the growth and power projection of those countries. He is one of the most important figures in the history of the SPN, building his nation from a simple secessionist state into perhaps the most pre-imminent military and political power in the region, whose power projection stretched far across the SPN.
Foldhazi was the founder of the UNSC. Under his administration, the UNSC grew as a power into perhaps the only country in SPN history that could truly rival the Federation.
At his decision, the UNSC sided with the Broalition Forces, a choice which would later haunt him until the end of the UNSC. The country was the single biggest military force pressing against the Federation, leading the Broalition in the Yahara Front and Centralia Front. Throughout the whole of the War, the UNSC was only invaded within the last 3 days of it's involvement. It officially pulled out of the war before the Battle of E House, making peace with the Allies, however, it is widely reported by both Military Forces present at the battle and in official after-action wiring that many UNSC-flagged ships were actually involved in the battle.
Despite the UNSC Air Force being present at the battle, the Allies were able to win the battle after an incredibly long fight. The treaty terms were harsh on the Garfeas and other Broalition members; the UNSC hoped that they would be able to win some reward for leaving early, but this did not happen.
Taking advantage of the weakened Federation Position in the Prairie Union and the diminishing willingness to preserve the peace after the war, Foldhazi organized the Catxis Powers around the Truck Nation Movement and Grand Meowtopia, and a second Great Prairie War began. Rydon Foldhazi is regarded as the only competent leader among the Catxis in modern review, and he was the main director of the Catxis war effort.
Following the crossing of the River Yahara by the Allies in early November of 2019, Foldhazi fled the country, leaving his second-in-command to surrender on the 10th, ending the second Great Prairie War. However, the UNSC reformed as a democratic (in name) nation in the north of the SPN, which has caused tensions. Foldhazi has said that he wishes for reconciliation between the former Allies and Catxis nations, however, and says he has no intentions to rehash the past.
Through his career, he has been considered radical, even being repeatedly called "communist" as an insult. He is a protectionist and somewhat of an isolationist in certain circles, but he is also a political reformist, demonstrated by the fact that his first major piece of new legislation was a voting bill that switched the system from First-past-the-post to Single-Transferrable, also called ranked choice voting, which was initially blocked as it was introduced at the time immediately before an election, but was amended to take effect post-election. It was a popular measure that had been introduced before but never passed.
