Andrew "Drew/Andy" Anderson is a Federation Politician is best known for serving one term as the 12th President of the United Federation and 2nd Fuhrer of the Fourth Reich during Prairie War III. Under the latter position, he personally presided over some of the most brutal crimes of any regime in history, and it is believed he was the primary driver behind the Nuclear Bombardments of the Circles Republic Revolution, Valentino City, and Waterloo. He oversaw the end of the Reich, and surrendered to Allied Forces to end the conflict. This role, and the depth of his involvement in the Reich's machinations, has left him as one of the most disgraced leaders in the history of the SPN.
Before ascendancy to the Presidency, he served previously as the Senator for New West Virginia. A Commodore of the First Fleet, Drew Anderson is also a recipient of the Federation Honor and Valor Medal, the highest commendation in the Federation. Drew Anderson was also the both the first Openly Gay and the first 2nd Generation President of the United Federation. In recent times, he is regarded as one of the Federation's greatest Presidents. In the scholars Ranking 2020, he placed in second after Nicholas Lapord. According to public polling, he was ranked fourth, after John BG, Nicholas Lapord, and Ainsley Wall.
As President he is known for ending the Third Despa War, expanding the unity of the Prairie Union, increasing the size of the Military, being a proponent of higher standards of service in the Federation, and perhaps most importantly winning the Second Great Prairie War.
His military policy at the start of his tenure was largely uneventful, as he had added some new aircraft to the Federation's military, and decommissioned older vessels out of the fleet. He did add a large amount of repair and resupply to the Federation Navy, ordering the modernization of a large number of ships in the fleet. In addition, he added 4 trillion to military spending in his first budget. He also ended the Third Despa War, which had previously been controversial and unpopular.
Early on in his second , the U.N.S.C., Truck Empire, Radtopia, and Grand Meowtopia declared war on the Federation, causing the allies to invoke Collective Defence, thus starting the Second Great Prairie War. During the war he ordered a ramp-up in military spending, and ordered the successful invasions of the Truck Empire and Grand Meowtopia. After the UNSC invasion, he and his staff were forced to temporarily flee to the Central Despan Republic, before being able to retake the Federation. He then initiated the invasions of the UNSC in the south. After these invasions were complete and the UNSC surrendered, the Treaty of Fitchburg was signed, after which he, along with Senator Schwartz, initiated the Schwartzy Plan, rebuilding the nations hit by the war and fostering good sentiments with the people of the former UNSC nations.
At the end of his term he announced that he would not seek re-election for the Presidency of the United Federation, and that he felt his tenure was complete. Calvin Petri was nominated by the Union Party to succeed him, as Calvin was seen as a highly popular figure in Federation Politics who could unite the country in the post-war time. President Anderson endorsed Calvin Petri for the Presidency.
Starting as a Lieutenant in the Federation Navy, Drew Anderson quickly moved up the ranks of naval command, and was noted as being skilled in command of a battleship. He was a part of the Second Bombardment Fleet during the Battle of Castle Rock, during which he commanded the USS Illinois against the enemy fleet, with his ship sinking 2 vessels. For this he earned the Honor and Valor Medal, the Federation's highest decoration.
After this he became the founder and Senator for the State of New West Virginia, one of the Federation States. As his popularity and his state's importance grew, he launched an exploratory committee into the Presidency, and in September he announced his candidacy for the 2019 October Election.
At the start of his Tenure, President Anderson pledged to work to further ties within the Prairie Union and to bolster the Federation's Military.
On Sunday, Oct. 6, Ambassador Banks-George announced that the Central Despan Republic and the Prairie Union had come to an agreement to end the Third Despa War, with the Anderson Administration helping to come to the treaty.
Down to the wire, the Anderson Administration was able to pass a budget resolution for the next 5 months for the Federation Government, increasing military spending by 10 trillion dollars in order to launch the Fleet 150 Program.
During the Second Great Prairie War, he led the Federation and the Allies to a hard-fought victory, and oversaw the Schwartz Plan for re-democratization and economic recovery in the Post-War Nations.
Andrew Anderson was, in his time, already counted as one of the Greatest Fed Presidents, alongside Nicholas Lapord, Chris Fallis, and John Banks-George, largely because of his winning of the Second Great Prairie War, the handling of the Economy, and his overall well-mannered personality. He showed leadership in the face of the Fed's occupation, saying that there would be no surrender to the Catxis. Caden Schwartz, President of the F.W.R., said "Andrew Anderson, the Littest Man Alive" in reference to his service.
In January of 2020, the Federation Encyclopedia Society named Andrew Anderson as 2019's Person of the Year, citing his rise to an unlikely presidency and his fights with adversity in the face of his sexuality and his youth, and also cited his victory in the Second Great Prairie War.
However, his extreme involvement in the atrocities of the 4th Reich and disregard for his own past has completely relegated him in historical studies to a place of disgrace and resentment. Ex-Anderson Space Center, outside Patrick Marsh and near the site of the Battle of Isla Rando, was renamed Unity Space Center, and numerous other similar memorials and dedications were reversed.
