Addison Boott is a Federation Politician and was the 11th President of the United Federation of Paper Planes. The next in the line of succession after Ryan Madden prematurely resigned the office, she was sworn in as the 11th President. She is known for finishing Jacob Eiden's work on joining the Prairie Union, and repealing the military disarmament act.
Becoming an unlikely President after the Madden Resignation, she had initially begun her tenure with much uncertainty. With the Federation seeing the start of a potentially disastrous recession, she worked fervently to halt a coming depression, and called on the other members of the Prairie Union to assist in the economic struggle. Due to her tenacity in this regard the recession was halted, and the Federation's economy stabilized, but it would have to wait for her successor to start growing again.
After threats from the Central Despan Republic, primarily based around the repayment of war reparations by Grand Meowtopia to the Despan Government, she started to deploy troops into the country in the short standoff that is known as the 3rd Despa War, although little fighting outside a few skirmishes occurred. Fearing that she would be seen as an illegitimate President, as she was not elected as Vice President or President, she called a snap election to decide the new President of the UFP, in which she did not run. Andrew Anderson won the snap election and was sworn into office five days later.
While most agree that Addison Boott handled the Economy well, there is much criticism drawn about the 3rd Despa War. Many thought it imprudent and amoral to invade a sovereign ally, even if there had been political turmoil in the nation. She is normally ranked in the middle of the Federation's Presidents.
As the Secretary of the Army, Addison Boott worked to improve the Federation's ground force efficiency. She also served as a host on the FedCast, and was the Senator for the state of Boottistan.
As the President of the Federation, Addison Boott continued the work started by Jacob Eiden and John Banks-George of bringing the Federation fully into the Prairie Union. Due to her leadership and the Prairie Union joint economic system, the Federation avoided an economic crash that would have otherwise been expected to occur.
In addition, she vetoed the Military Disarmament Act, which had previously aimed to limit the size of the Federation's military. She ordered the production of the San Francisco-class Light Cruiser, the Roman-class Battlecruiser, the Bonaventure-class Combat Support Frigates, and other vessels.
