The Vice-president of the United Federation is the second-highest office in the UFP, and the person to hold the office is the second-in-command of Military Forces, and is the lead member of the High Command by default. The V.P. holds many of the same powers as the President, simply with the restriction of needing approval.
As the second-in-command of the Air Force, Navy, Army, and Marine Corps, the Federation, the Vice-president has the authority to order military strikes during wartime, and take command of any fleet or contingent, both assuming that the president has not done so already. The Vice-president, as the leader of the High Command, also creates bills and counts the votes in the High Command.
As a part of the Federation Leadership Contingency, the Vice-president will take over the duties of the president when they are not present, due to absence or inability to discharge the duties of President. In that case, the Vice-president would take the oath of office for President.
