Action Plans
Individual development plans for how to get where you want to go
Laying out a Plan
What do you care about? Don't think about it as a definitive guide as much as which direction do you want to start steering your ship. You'll refine the steering as you learn more about what you care about.
Individual Development Plans
IDPs have space to describe why you care about the things you do, which then help you identify areas for future training and growth.
Practice:
Start an IDP for yourself by downloading the IDP (left).

Pro tip!
Share these IDPs or action plans with your career advisors. They really help your advisors get a sense of what you care about and want to do. You'll get more specific and in-depth advising. You don't need to have the entire thing filled out to share with advisors.
Action Plans
Like an IDP, but much shorter and focused on key deliverables needed for next steps along a path.
Practice:
Create your own action plan using this fillable worksheet (left)
If you are deciding between multiple paths, create one per path. It helps because programs differ in what they require (admissions tests, shadowing, etc.)
If the action plan is too focused, start instead with an IDP (above)
