Scholar Enrichment

Supporting decision-making around biomedical research careers; supporting connections among peers, faculty, and staff.

What is this Site?

This site supports college students interested in science and health research (as well as people looking at college or building lives after college). If you're an EXITO, U-RISE, DREAM, or PROA Scholar, check the Schedule tab for the current schedule of Portland State University's Enrichment workshops

This site is for people thinking about degrees and careers in social science, natural science, health, equity, research, or a combination, and for people supporting their interests--friends, family, allies, instructors, mentors. This site is open to anyone. It is made by diverse people whose experiences and communities are under-represented among professional scientists and health providers, because folks like us need information we may not find in classes or on career websites. It's a project of BUILD EXITO Enrichment. Welcome!

What is Enrichment?

EXITO is a training program in biomedical research that was funded by the National Institutes of Health, to support undergraduate students interested in science, health, and research who come from backgrounds and communities that have been marginalized in those fields. EXITO developed Enrichment workshops and activities that now serve Scholars in related programs at Portland State University, in partnership with EXITO community colleges and universities. Enrichment is a dedicated time to talk with peers, work on your portfolio, and engage in personalized professional development. It's about taking time for you.

Find your interests.  Find your team.  Find your path.
