E-waste processing centers.
BACKGROUND : E-waste is the fastest growing waste stream in the world. There are various chemicals associated with E-waste that renders potential threat to the environment and the health of people. So we tried to formulate a solution which helps us to increase the ratio of E-waste recycling rate. In this project, the main stakeholders would have the stakeholders from whom the E-waste would be collected and the processing centers to whom it would be delivered. By doing so, we reduce the gap between the people and the centers.The E-waste after bring delivered would be recycled and ready for reuse. To achieve this requirement, we try to use an application which helos the user to give an request for collecting the E-waste from them and then a personnel would be sent to collect or incase of abnormal situations like lockdown a drone could be sent to collect them and deliver the E-waste to the nearest center for further processing. Another solution we propose, is a machine like an ATM which people can use it to scan their wastes and get money based on the material after dumping them into the portal. At regular intervals, personnels would go and collecr them from them machine and deliver it to the processing centers. By doing so our team is trying to bridge the people and processing centers and to avoid E-waste getting mixed up with other wastes and not undergoing proper processing.
IMPACT:
We hope that our project will help people to identify a forum through which they can use to dispose their E-waste instead of throwing away with other wastes.We think our project can make the processing centers more efficient with their inputs and recycle lots of E-wastes. People may be given with a user-friendly application which they might find easier to give requests. Also this would help the processing centers to reach out the people and create awareness about separating the E-wastes and giving them away for processing.Since it uses a simple mechanism our application can be maintained with minimum maintenance. By making use of our application it may be seen that the people might efficiently give away the wastes and it increases the recycling ratio. Owing to this, in the future, people might have much more awareness about the importance of E-wastes recycling and the cost of E-waste might also sore high.
