RAIN WATER HARVESTING
BACKGROUND : When we visited the village Thanglacheri which is near to our college, we found most of the people there are farmers and have their own land for farming. But, their main problem was water, they are mostly depending on rainfall but many times rainfall fails, leaving the people suffer for water. This made us to think a solution which will help them to have water in a sustainable way.
Impact
As our project aims to solve the water problem in the village sustainably, it does so by a series of integrated solution. Implementing rainwater harvesting techniques over the fields and houses in the villages will help to increase the groundwater level rapidly and provides fresh water. Building a proper drainage facility and recycling the waste water by SBR Technique will help to supply the farm land with water. Again by implementing biogas reactor the waste sludges from the SBR reactor and from the farm land will help us to provide electricity and gas to the village
