When a molly and a tomcat love each other very much...
Only Adult cats may breed.
Breeding may only occur between cats of opposite sexes.
Cats who are stated as neutered, or otherwise infertile, may not breed.
Cats who have run out of Litters may not breed. How many times a cat may breed (Litter Number L#) is determined by the parents.
Cats must have an accepted Masterlist Import to breed.
Cats must be healthy to breed. Statuses such as Pregnant, Nursing, Sick, or Injured will interrupt a breeding.
Its possible to have superfecund litters, with a maximum of two sires.
Cats may birth anywhere from 1-6 kittens. Litters, even with the use of items, will not exceed 6 kittens.
You may send a breeding using a cat belonging to another player, but you need explicit permission first. The owner of the cat you are borrowing must be tagged and confirm that the breeding may proceed.
Inbreeding is NOT allowed. Inbreeding is not encouraged by the group. The group officially tracks and recognizes familiar relationships up to 4 generations (parent, grandparent, great-grandparent). Attempting to breed cats this closely related is not allowed and continuously attempting to inbreed cats will result in a warning.
When you're looking to breed two cats together, you should double check the following:
Cats must have accepted and uploaded Import Images.
Cats must be ready for breeding: they must be adults with the healthy status and of opposite sexes.
You can test out the breeding possibilities using our hypokit roller. This is a smaller version of our litter roller, so the possibilities you see here can absolutely happen as a result from your breeding. The hypokit roller will also let you know if there's any inbreeding present between any of the cats involved.

Items used:
Amount of kits born: Can be a set number or randomized.
Keep in mind the following:
While the amount of kittens born will always be randomized, you get to choose how many will live afterwards! If the litter you rolled has too many kits, or not enough, the end result can be customized. It is completely free to remove kittens, but if you wish to add more kittens you will need an additional kit voucher.
If you would like to roll a litter of a specific size, you may use a Milk Thistle item before the litter is rolled.
If you're using cats that does not belong to you, or you want to use items that aren't in your inventory but on the inventory of other players participating in the breeding, you must clearly specify who they belong to and tag said member. The member must then confirm that you have permission to use their cats and/or items.
Once you have a good pair to breed, head over to the #Breeding channel and create a new Thread. This thread will hold all the information relating to this particular breeding, from permissions and discussions to ensure the litter is exactly as you like.
The thread should include the form above, completely filled out. Be sure to include the New Breeding tag. This will ensure your litter gets rolled by an available admin.
An admin will use our litter roller to give you your breeding results. The DAM will be considered Pregnant and her status will be updated accordingly.
You will receive 1-6 kittens and their appearances. These kittens have not been officially added to the game, and are in a customizable state.
During this period you may use the following items on the litter:
Additional kit voucher: Can be applied to litters with less than 6 cats. Each voucher will add one (1) kitten to the litter. The item can be stacked with itself as long as the total amount of kits does not exceed six (6) kittens.
Mutation Ticket: This will add one (1) randomized mutation to one (1) kit in the litter. You may use multiple mutation tickets, but kits may not have more than two (2) mutations each.
Allele Shifter: This item will allow you to customize the appearance of a kitten. This item will only alter one allele at a time, and what genes can be added or removed are restricted to the parents.
For example, if the dam is aa (solid), but the sire is AA (tabby), all kittens will always be aA (tabby, carrying solid). It would not be possible to use an allele shifter to turn any of the kittens born into aa (solid) because the sire will always pass down his tabby gene.
Litter Reroll: This item will make void all of the kittens that were previously rolled and will grant you a new set of kitten appearances. Please keep in mind that using this item will remove anything that was applied after the litter was rolled.
This is your chance to officially customize kittens. If there are kittens you are giving away to other members, this would be their chance to customize kittens they're keeping for themselves as well. Please keep in mind that if you negotiate a kitten away, you will need to give permission in the same thread for any members not involved in the breeding to customize the kits.
Note: It can get particularly easy to miss official requests in the midst of discussions. To ensure a mod spots a change to the litter, use any of the following codes:
You can bold your statements by adding ** before and after.
**I wish to add a mutation ticket to kit 1, from my inventory.**
You can turn your text into a small header by using ## or ### at the start of your message; these will make your text bold and a slightly bigger font.
## I wish to add a mutation ticket to kit 1, from my inventory.
You can turn your text into a block-quote using three ``` at the start and end of your message.
``` I wish to add a mutation ticket to kit 1, from my inventory. ```
Once you are done with customizing the kitten's appearances, you may confirm the litter. Upon litter confirmation:
The kits will be assigned an official ID
The kits will be removed from your pending litters tab onto your game sheet
The kits will no longer be customizable
As stated before, not all kits will need to live. If you rolled too many kittens, and you were expecting only 1, you may give them away or sell them, or void them.
Voiding a kitten:
To void a kitten, you may comment on the thread as if you were making an official change to the litter. Simply let an admin know which kittens you wish to void.
Voiding a kitten is permanent. An admin will remove their information from the pending litters tab and will proceed as though the kitten never existed. There is no way to regain this information back.
Confirming the litter:
On the pending litters tab, you will have access to edit the kit's names, their owner's username, as well as the Group and Land they will be rehomed to.
Kit names: this is a chance to have your new kitten enter the masterlist with an established name already. It's alright if you don't have a set name for them just yet.
Username: this is the username of their new owner.
Group and Land: these should be switched to the proper new home for the kits.
An admin will always proceed with the information that is given in the Pending Litters tab. Please make sure it is accurate before confirming the litter. Once the kittens are assigned to their respective sheets, you will receive their new IDs. The DAM will have her status changed from PREGNANT to NURSING.
To have the DAM's Nursing status removed, all of the kittens she is currently nursing (found in a note over her status) should be aged up to adolescents using the aging system.
You may then proceed to #updates and request her status is removed back to healthy.
