Business leader and car enthusiast Eugene Bernshtam spends a lot of his free time traveling and working out. However, with the many travel restrictions due to the global health crisis, Eugene Bernshtam mostly spends his free time nowadays at home, lifting weights.

Eugene Bernshtam shares a few important tips on preparing the body for an intense workout in today's blog.

1. Enough sleep

Getting enough rest, particularly sleep, is one of the most grossly overlooked aspects of training, according to Eugene Bernshtam. When a person has an intense workout scheduled the day after, they should make sure that they get at least six to seven hours of sleep the night before. Sleep makes sure the body has adequately healed from previous workouts and is ready for the ones ahead.

2. Proper nutrition

While some people prefer to work out in a fasted state, meaning without a meal for at least eight hours, Eugene Bernshtam recommends a good-portioned meal for beginners who are about to try an intense workout the first time. Doing so ensures them that they don't crash from low blood sugar levels.

3. Warm-up and stretch

Warming up and stretching is as important as anything else a person does before an intense workout. This process makes the body more flexible and able to handle the rigors of the routine ahead. Eugene Bernshtam also adds that warming up and stretching tremendously lowers the chances of injury.
