This system makes item transportation with hopper minecarts incredibly easy, no complex redstone circuits required! Build efficient networks that automatically handle your items.
This system simplifies automated item transportation by automatically dispatching hopper minecarts based on their contents or the status of linked containers.
This setup automatically sends off hopper minecarts when they are full or when the source container is empty but the cart still holds some items.
Setup Requirements:
Place a Powered Rail on any solid block (it must not be a hopper).
Position a Hopper or Chest directly above where the hopper minecart will sit on the rail. This is your supply container.
Place a Hopper Minecart directly onto this powered rail.
Place an Iron Block at the very end of the rail track where the minecart will leave from.
How It Functions:
Full Dispatch: When the hopper minecart becomes completely full (all slots at maximum stack size), it will automatically be pushed along the rail.
Empty Supply Dispatch: If the container above the hopper minecart runs empty, but the minecart itself still has some items, it will also be automatically pushed along the rail.
Waiting Mode: If both the container above and the hopper minecart are empty, the minecart will remain stationary, waiting for new items to arrive before departing.
This setup automatically dispatches empty hopper minecarts after they've finished transferring all their contents into a hopper below.
Setup Requirements:
Place a Powered Rail directly above a Hopper. This hopper will receive items from the minecart.
Ensure there is no Hopper or Chest directly above where the minecart will sit (otherwise, it might interfere with dispatch).
Place a Hopper Minecart directly onto this powered rail.
Place an Iron Block at the very end of the rail track where the minecart will leave from.
How It Functions:
Unloading: The hopper minecart will sit on the powered rail and automatically empty its contents into the hopper below.
Empty Dispatch: Once the hopper minecart is completely empty of items, it will automatically be pushed along the rail, sending it on its way to its next task.
This minecart will behave normally, and will need significant redstone added to automatically depart when the hopper is empty or when the chest is full.
Due to the iron block placed at the end of the track, this minecart will automatically depart when the above hopper is empty or when the hopper minecart is unable to accept more items.
Note there still must be an unpowered power rail at the start of the track, and it must not be connected to the power rails on the rest of the track, as seen on the lower track.
The same process as above works when a cart butts up against an iron block, unpowered power rail, and a hopper below.
In this case, the hopper minecart will automatically depart once it has fully emptied its contents, no further redstone required.
