The miniaturized OFCEAS spectrometer developed and built by the LAME post-doc Roberto Grilli and co-workers successfully measured methane profiles down to a depth of 600 m during an oceanic campaign in the Mediterranean off the coast of Toulon form 10 to 13 July. This was the first field test of the spectrometer designed to measure both the methane concentration and the water deuterium isotope ratio in real-time and on-line on board of an Antarctic ice-core drilling probe in the framework of the Ice&Lasers ERC and the Subglacior ANR projects.
