The results of the initial survey contacted in Finland. The survey was carried out in January 2019.
- Teachers survey
- Teachers in Finland are mostly women. It is more typical that woman are teaching language subjects and men mathematical subjetcs. In Sotunki upper secondary school students are try to treat equally regardless of gender. Female teachers are not usually considered differently from male colleagues.
- Parents survey
- Most of the parents know the meaning of word “gender”. According the survey children´s teachers are usually women, over 60% of them. When asking a queastion: " do you feel pressure about your appearance", most of them didn't experience pressure , woman a littele more than men. Parents feel that same things are assume to based on gender, for example, men should carry heavy things and work more with technology.
- Students survey
- According to the survey the students say that some people assume things based on their gender, for examples "boys dont cry" or "girls are better at art" . Boys felt less pressure than girls about their appearance. Gender has a greater influence on girls' choice of hobbies than boys. Most of students think that household choirs are equally divided in their families.
