what a journey is
This is the title given from the TEAM to the first phase of the planned activities, for different reasons.
Behind every migrant pupil there is a journey which brought his/her family to a new destination. Revealing their stories to schoolmates would be the chance to start a secret travel into theirselves, rich in expectations and feelings. For listeners it would represent a learning path through countries and habits, human rights, equity, tolerance, as well as an experience of empathy towards the newly arrived.
Although .... life itself is a journey for our up-growing boys and girls, filled with unexepcted Wows! Every goal they reach is sprinkled with "How did you get there?" and "Where are you going next?"
Moreover, a real or digital journey through the Apulian territory will also represent a real opportunity for the migrant and foreign students to know our history and culture besides our beautiful landscapes.
Let's discover then the experiences of our students, directly through their voices!

Teachers discuss future plans.1.30 p.m. The teachers have lunch at a restaurant . The students have lunch in the hosting families.4.00 p.m. Visit to some historical sites of Modugno.7.00 p.m. The teachers have dinner at a restaurant. The students have dinner in the hosting families.
Wednesday, 12th December9.00 All the delegations meet at the central seat of “Casavola-D’Assisi”.9.15 Leaving for Bari, the chief town of the region Apulia, for a guided tour of its city centre with the Castle, St. Nicholas Basilica, the Cathedral, the ancient walls, the fortification, Mercantile Square and Ferrarese Square.1.00 p.m. Lunch break in Bari.2.30 p.m. Walking along Sparano Street, the most fashionable street in the city.6.00 p.m. Back to B&B’s and hosting families.In the evening teachers have dinner at a pizzeria; students have dinner and free time in the families.Thursday, 13th December9.00 All the delegations meet at the central seat of “Casavola-D’Assisi”.9.15 Leaving for a guided tour of Matera, the European capital city of Culture 2019.1.00 p.m. Lunch break in a typical restaurant.2.30 p.m. The tour goes on with some shopping.6.00 p.m. Back to B&B’s and hosting families.In the evening teachers have dinner at a restaurant; students have dinner and free time in the families.Friday, 14th December9.00 Arrival at school. Students and accompanying teachers participate in some lessons. 1.00 p.m. Farewell party at school. 3.00 p.m. Back to B&B’s and hosting families.7.00 p.m. Musical performance of the school orchestra at Associazione Missione del Pieno Vangelo in the town centre of Modugno.8.30/9.00 p.m. Back to B&B’s and hosting families.
