The project is entitled "Taste of life" and concerns the development of key competences and the
promotion of healthy nutrition, active lifestyle and the prevention of childhood obesity.
We know how important it is to shape key competences in a modern school because a young person
needs them for self-fulfillment and personal development, being an active citizen, social integration
and employment in the future. All key competences are equally important because each of them can
contribute to a successful life in modern society.
Participation in the project will give us the opportunity to learn the methods of work of teachers from
partner schools and their ways to develop key competences among students. We shape the
competences in school not only through what we teach, but above all, how we teach. School
graduates are to be equipped not only with knowledge, but also with specific skills that will help them
cope with the new social and economic reality. It is extremely important to choose appropriate
teaching methods, and above all teachers' awareness of their role in the teaching-learning process. A
contemporary teacher should be an adviser, observer and listener, whose task is to prepare students
to continually acquire new knowledge and skills, use independent information resources, cooperate
with others and solve problems. We hope that this project will contribute to the increase of teachers'
competences, whose task will be to search for appropriate methods and tools for working with
students, creating lesson plans, and then exchanging experiences with teachers from various
subjects from partner schools. The result of searching for the best methods of work and exchange of
experiences between teachers is to increase students' key competences, because they are the
subject of all activities in this project. All teacher activities are aimed at shaping and increasing key
competences among pupils from partner schools, also through students' participation in activities
related to healthy lifestyles included in the schedule.
An important element of our project is the promotion of healthy eating, active lifestyle and preventing
obesity among children. Unfortunately, research results show that children have easy access to
unhealthy food and more often suffer from overweight or obesity. Improper nutrition of children brings
negative effects, such as growth and development disorders, overweight or obesity, and in adulthood
increased risk of many diseases. Being aware of that, we want to counteract it and we are convinced
that our project will contribute to this. We have planned many activities for students, using ICT tools
that will develop their awareness of healthy eating and a healthy lifestyle. We want to shape our
students so that they grow into young healthy people, leading a healthy and active lifestyle and
equipped with key competences that will allow them to constantly develop and to shape their lives in
a conscious way.
