Mobility in Portugal
On 4-8 October 2021, as part of the European Union program, Erasmus +, the "Taste of Life" project, a meeting of all partner schools in Portugal took place. The main goals of our project are to promote an active and healthy lifestyle among students and to develop key competences.
We are glad that after the break caused by the covid-19 pandemic, we were able to meet our partners again and fully implement our project. Already in the evening of the first day, students and teachers from all partner schools met and had a good time during a joint dinner.
On Tuesday 5.10 we visited Aveiro, saw Portugal's largest lighthouse on Barra Beach, sailed on a colorful traditional Moliceiro boat on the Aveiro canals filled with Atlantic water and watched unique views of one of the most picturesque towns in Portugal. In the afternoon, we visited the Shoe Museum and the Hat Museum for which Sao Joao da Madeira is famous, the town where our Portuguese partner's school is located. And in the evening, during a joint dinner, we could try traditional Portuguese dishes.
We spent most of the next day of our visit at the school of our Portuguese partner in Sao Joao da Madeira. We spent this day actively, as we participated in sports and yoga workshops. Then we visited the school and learned a bit about how children learn in Portugal.
Then it was time to show presentations on culinary traditions in our countries prepared by students from individual partner schools.
In the afternoon, we visited the Art Center - Centro de Arte Oliva, where we admired works of modern art, and then we took part in creative workshops during which we designed the museum of the future. The day ended with a dinner with a musical accent.
We spent the last day of our visit to Portugal in Porto, which is the second largest city in Portugal. We visited the most important place in Porto - the historic center. We walked around the Old Town, where we admired beautiful squares, charming streets, magnificent churches and other historic buildings. A great attraction for us was the boat trip on the Douro River, during which we could relax and enjoy the beautiful views in the sunshine.
These few days spent in Portugal were for us an intense time of joint activities, workshops and trips. We came back to our countries richer with new experiences, full of impressions and unforgettable memories.
