Mobility in Greece
We visited Greece in December 2021. We started our first day in Greece with a walk around the center of ancient Athens and the National Garden. In the afternoon we went to Volos, to our partner school, where we met our partner schools for a welcome dinner. Unfortunately, there was no school from Finland that did not come due to covid-19 restrictions.
We spent December 14 in Volos, the city of our Greek partners. The day started with a visit to the Greek partner school, which surprised us with a welcome ceremony. Then we participated in sensory and music workshops. Later, through the prepared presentation, we got to know the countries and regions from which our partners come. All students from partner schools presented themselves very well, showing their presentations about their hometowns, villages and countries. Another point was visiting the city and workshops with traditional Christmas decorations. The day ended with a joint dinner.
The next day was also full of excitement. In the morning we left for the traditional village of Pelion "Makrinitsa". We got to know Byzantine art and culture, baked Christ's bread. We played a board game on chapels with our friends from partner countries. The next point was hiking in the hills. After a short rest, we participated in the theatrical presentation "Prince Lemon and Beautiful Onion" - referring to the theme of the program prepared by the students of the Greek host school. At the end, all schools were presented with certificates and gifts, and a farewell dinner was held.
December 16 is the day when we literally got to know the "Taste of Life". This day will remain in our memory forever, because we experienced the times of ancient Greece - the cradle of our civilization. "History of the legendary hill" tour with a guide at the Museum The Acropolis was the prelude to visiting the Acropolis hill and the Parthenon. We saw the most valuable and unique monuments in the world. We were also able to get to know the historic center of Athens, see the Greek parliament and the honorary changing of the guard in front of this building. When we went to the farewell dinner, we got to know the atmosphere of Greek Christmas.
When our stay in Greece ended, we returned safely to our homes, but enriched with new experiences and unforgettable experiences. International friendships have been established, which will develop thanks to modern communicators. We could experience all of this thanks to the "Taste od Life" project implemented under the Erasmus + program of the European Union.
