Five classes from age 5 and age 6 had different 5 activities.
APPLES OF MAGRITTE
We start our activity with presentation about art theme. We get information about famous painters. At the end of the presentation we have a suprise painter. It was Rene Magritte. We start to read “Apples of Magritte” (Klaas Verplancke) Magritte is a creative painter. He paints apples, hats … And he combine things in his paints. After the story we divided in two groups. First group made an art activity. Second group observe an apple. And answered some question like “what color is the apple, taste of the apple, how many seed it has etc. And we changed our group at the end of activity.
SHARING A SHELL
At the beginning of the event, we played the finger game "So-such". Then we showed the gift box to the children and asked what could be inside. After the estimates were taken, the box was opened and it was shown that it was a story book. We read the story Sharing a Shell accompanied by puppets. While the story was being read, questions were asked about the story by pausing from time to time. Then, the children were divided into three groups and the activities prepared on the tables were made. The 1st group played a memory card game about the characters in the story. The second group created their own sea creatures with the cornstarch toy. Group 3 tried to find the characters in the story, who were hidden under glass containers, in the Spy event, with a glass of water in a glass filled with water. They found the animals they found on the prepared card and marked them with colored eva. Finally, the event was concluded by dancing to the song "A Ram Sam Sam".
SOSO'NIN KOMPOST KİTABI
We started to ask questions about compost. We made children to think about what compost is. Children shared their opinions, ask questions. By this way, they listened each other, heard others’ opinion and thoughts.We started to read the book ‘’Soso’nun Kompost Kitabı’’ A womb called Soso narrate the compost. Children learned that what kinds of domestic waste the worm loves or not. We used a worm puppet to make kids more excited about the story. The puppet worm asked questions about the story and compost. Children gave answers to worm’s questions. Then we dramatatized the being a worm. Children started to walk around the ground like a worm. Then they found some domestic waste like garlic, eggshell, bananashell, onion. They imitated that they like or dislike those domestic waste. After these introductorty activites, we introduced some matearials like soil, paper, leaf, eggshells,lettuce to the kids. One by one they taste touch and smell the domestic waste. They group them according to compost component.To get started, kids put soil in to the plastic jar. Then they put in a bit newspaper and add kitchen/domestic waste. Finally they add a layer of dead leaves and grass, They repaeted it until the plastic jar is mostly full.We let them explore what is in it. Weekly they will observe and put more domestic materials into their compost. They learn to care the earth, being kind to environment. They also learn how compost can be used. It was a great hands-on activity for kids. After main part, we played a matching game with kids. We designed the game with Learning Apps. There tried to find the couples by opening the cards via smart board. We talked about the cards which is designed components of compost.Then we divided the by 2. We designed a board game. Children classfiyied the domestic components for compost. For example, garlic is not used for compost, so they put it right place. They found the eggshells, so need to put the right place. They put components to the board.
5 COUNTRIES 5 SUITCASES
This is an activity about Erasmus countries. (Romania-Slovenia- Italy-Spain- Portugal) Our aim about this activity to get to know better our Erasmus partners. Before we present we get information about countries(capital city, famous places and foods..) and made lots of activities about it. After that we divided into 4 groups to study our presentation. And every group present their roles with suitcases and cards/materials. W estamp the passport after each country we present.
