Maricica
The story ”Maricica” by Luica Vladescu is often used at the beginning of education of kids in the personal development field.
The story’s purpose is to teach children about personal hygiene and a healthy lifestyle. Maricica is a very sad little girl a she does not have a friend to play with. She is usually a very good and giving kid, she always shares her toys and she is always happy. She always has her face and cheeks all dirty with food, her hair is always tangled, the dress has seen better days and her shoelaces are untied. Maricica came to kindergarten today in the hope offinding a few friends to play with so she hold her breath and asks a few kids if they want to play with her, but they say no. Seeing none wanted to play with her due to her looks, she asks them to help her clean up. The teacher starts the telling this story with the help ofthe storytelling apron, and she shows each object used for personal hygiene. She will setthem on her desk (toothbrush, hairbrush, soap, towel) and she will invite the children to come discover the objects. The children will use the objects to refer back to the story and help Maricica get cleaned up so they can close the story together.
Presentation of the story with the help of the story teller fate. Capturing the children's attention with the help of the characters. The children decorated their aprons. At the end of the story, we danced with Maricica, the girl who now had a lot of friends. She was very happy!
The Dot
We read the story “The Dot”. After the story we had a movement activity with all the kids. We showed them some movement cards and the kids did some movements. Then we divided the kids in three groups. At each table we had different activities. The 1st group played a dot bingo game prepared by the Turkish team. The 2nd group played a dot domino game and the 3rd group did graph activity with colorful dots. When all the kids finished their activities at the tables, we gave them a White paper and they chose a dot. They did stick their dots on the White paper and they completed their artwork. At the end of the lesson the kids sang a song to say “thank you” to us.
The Pinocchio
The Italian teacher involved the children in a play inspired by an Italian character Pinocchio, the game name is Pinocchio's coins.
The Very Hungry Caterpillar
We work in the classroom around the story "THE VERY HUNGRY CATERPILLAR", known by children. We remember the story by looking at the book. We play with our bodies reproducing the story of the caterpillar until it turns into a butterfly. We each made our colored caterpillar and then we put wings on it so that it could fly. We danced the butterfly song together.
Really enjoyed it!!
