Job shadowing ... We are visited by teachers from Instituto Comprensivo Oliena (Sardinia - Italy) ...
Tuesday, December 9th to Friday, December 12th, 2025
These past few days we were fortunate to have teachers Chiara and Maura from Sardinia (Italy) with us to work and exchange experiences. We held workshops on gastronomy, sustainability, integration, and bilingualism, as well as cultural visits to the surrounding area.
Two teachers from Sardinia attended our school as visitors as part of a job shadowing programme. Their visit provided an excellent opportunity to share educational practices and to carry out joint activities in an international and collaborative context.
This experience was developed within the framework of the final project of the English subject. Throughout the term, students had been working on different topics related to food, cooking vocabulary, and common actions, among other language contents. The cooking workshop allowed them to put into practice everything they had learned in a meaningful and motivating way.
During the project, we organised a practical and interactive workshop focused on the preparation of crêpes, waffles, and pancakes. All the steps of the recipes were carefully followed, from preparing and measuring the ingredients to mixing and cooking. Students actively participated in every stage of the process while using English as the main language of communication.
Each student wrote the complete recipe in English, including the list of ingredients and the sequence of actions. The visiting teachers from Sardinia supported the students throughout the activity, helping them with language use and encouraging their participation in English.
The final part of the project consisted of cooking the crêpes, waffles, and pancakes. To conclude the activity, students and teachers enjoyed tasting the prepared food together. This final moment helped to consolidate the vocabulary and actions learned in class and made the project a successful and memorable learning experience
