What's a home page?

The home page is also known as a site's "landing" page. It's the main page where visitors "land". Its job is to welcome your audience (visitors) and orient them to the site's purpose and what it has to offer.

Must Haves 

These "must haves" are requirements if this is an assignment for Karen.

1. Personalize and welcome - Speak directly to your visitor (audience) and welcome them warmly.

2. Orienting information - Tell your visitor what your site is for and what they'll find.

3. Navigation tips - Tell your visitors how to move around and find things 

Optionally (not required) - you may even want to record a quick screencast to demonstrate your navigation tips.

What to Keep in Mind

• The home or landing page is your chance to make the first impression you want. 

• Be you. Don't be a poser.

• Including a photo personalizes the experience for your visitors immediately.

• For all content - images, text, video, etc. follow these tips to design your information with the audience in mind.
