Here's where you get personal and have a chance to truly craft your online identity.
The purpose of the "About Me" page is to share who you are and what your connection is to the content in your e-portfolio.
Orient your visitor to the page - tell them what's below.
Introduce yourself and share something unique about yourself - something that you're known for or that makes you tick (ideally, linked to your identity and purpose)
Describe the connection between who you are and your e-portfolio content (in other words, how is the information in the rest of the site related to who you are)
An image - ideally a photo of you, if you're comfortable with that, but at minimum include an image that captures something that is truly "you"; do not share photos of your students or anyone else who has not given you permission.
Some folks think of the about me page as a multi-media resume. If that's the case, it's a good idea to share photos of you "in action", working with a team, doing impressive things. Just be sure to explain the images to your audience and to get permission from colleagues, teammates, students, etc. who might be in your photos.
You might want to tell the story of "you" - your "biography".
Head shots and other personal photos are memorable.
Share a link to your resume document if you like.
Avoid providing your address and phone number.
For all content - images, text, video, etc. follow these tips to design your information with the audience in mind!
