Team assignments will be sent to confirmed work exchangers on or aroundΒ January 15th.Β
If you're a Mid-Event work exchanger, it means you can request shifts for any of the teams you're assigned to so you can choose your own adventure!
If you're a member of the pre or post event phase, your shifts may manually assigned by the coordinator, otherwisem you'll be able to select shifts on teams you're assigned too.
Unfortunately, we are not able to accommodate team change requests.
Shift times vary by phase and by team.
Pre-Event and Post-Event Shifts can start as early as 6am or as late as 11am. Β Some teams work in the early morning and late evening in order to avoid working during the heat of the day. Breaks will be set at the discretion of your shift supervisor but will typically be around meal times.
Mid-Event shift times vary by team. They can start as early as 7am or as late as 2am.Β You will be able to request shifts for the team(s) you were assigned to, so you will be able to choose your own adventure.
Pre-Event and Post-Event shifts will likely be assigned by the Coordinators based on your team assignment(s).Β
Anyone working a Mid-Event or Pre/Mid Hybrid shift will be able to request shift(s). The Coordinators will review your shift requests and approve your schedule. The Coordinators will change your shifts at their discretion.
Requesting shifts will start beginning February 2nd. You will be sent a shift request email in 'registration groups', based on the date you confirmed your participation. Your group and date can be found in your Confirmation email.Β

No, you can't work a shift on your arrival day.
Yes. Technically, you can leave at any point you want, But in order to receive the refund outlined in the work exchange, you can leave as soon as you complete the work requirement.Β
No, You can only work one shift per day. If you request two shifts on the same day, we cannot grant your request.
You will be sent an email containing a link to request shifts, with detailed instructions.
The Coordinator will review your shift requests. The Coordinators may change your shifts at their discretion.
The Coordinator will approve your schedule and you will be sent an email with your confirmed shift times.
Please note: For everyone to get a fair selection of shifts, please choose shifts across all time ranges (one morning, afternoon and evening and one Sat/Sun) so no one is stuck with all the less desirable shifts. We will likely adjust your shifts if you choose all the best shifts (all mornings, no Saturday or Sunday shifts, etc..)
Most everyone will work a Friday, Saturday or Sunday, and one evening shift β fair warning!Β
Your shift schedule will be locked once the Coordinators approve your schedule π
The error message will tell you what's wrong with your shift request:
You requested overlapping shifts or 2 in one day (double).
You requested too few or too many shifts to complete the work requirement. If this is because there aren't enough available shifts for the team(s) you're assigned to, see the answer below π
Sign up for as many of the shifts within your assigned team(s) as possible. If there are not enough, you should be able to select additional 'floater' shifts to fulfill your shift requirement. If all else fails, the Coordinators will assign you to shifts on other teams that have yet to be filled.
Check-in for all shifts at Work Exchange HQ unless otherwise instructed by a member of the Work Exchange Team. If you do not, you may not get credit for you working your shift and therefore not receive a refund.
Check-out for all shifts at Work Exchange HQ unless your shift ends after 9pm or otherwise instructed by a member of the Work Exchange Team.
If you shift ends after 9pm, you will check-out with your shift supervisor (the person we hand you off to for each shift). We will provide them with Meal Vouchers you receive at the end of your shift.
If your shift supervisor lets you off early, you must return to Work Exchange HQ to checkout. Otherwise, you may not get credit for your working your shift and therefore not receive a refund.
You must arrive on your designated arrival day... Please plan accordingly. If you miss a shift, you will be at risk of not completing your work requirement and not receiving a refund. If you experience an unexpected travel delay, email us at workexchange@envisionfestival.com.
