Type 8 is also called the Challenger or the Champion. Here at Enneahouse, we call Type 8's "Earth" elemental personalities. Earth can be solid, firm and everlasting, for better or for worse.
Type 8's are born with a need for independence. They believe that their own thoughts and opinions are the most important thing, and do not need others to control them. 8's have the potential to be protectors and defenders of what is right and good. The world needs Type 8's because they have the greatest capacity for both protection and love. They are like mama bears: extremely powerful and imposing to those who would harm those they protect, but incredibly nurturing and loving for those under their umbrella of protection.
When they are in a negative emotional state, Type 8's lock themselves away and thus, lock up their hearts. Their emotional state decays when they need to trust others but cannot open themselves up to do so.
When they are in a positive emotional state, Type 8's become truly powerful as they gain the power to empower the little guy. They improve their psychological state by opening their hearts and learning to trust others.
