Type 1: Ice: The Crusader

Type 1 is also called the Perfectionist or the Crusader. Here at Enneahouse, we call Type 1's "Ice" elemental personalities. Ice can be cool, refreshing and transparent, but also brittle and cold.

Type 1's are born heroes governed by an unwavering moral compass. They tend to expect perfection from themselves and everyone else and may have a hard time accepting their own weaknesses. 1's have the potential to be true leaders who lead by example. Many 1's dream of a day when the world is just and everyone is treated equally. 1's are driven by being seen as just and good and fear being seen as flawed and defective.

The world needs Type 1's because they are the compasses that keep the world on track. They have the power to encourage those they love to do what is right and good, even when it is hard. They are the classic golden heroes in many a story.

When they are in a negative emotional state, Type 1's frequently become withdrawn, sullen and depressed, losing some of their integrity and natural leadership ability. Their emotional state tends to decay the more focus they put on their own flaws and those of others.

When they are in a positive emotional state, Type 1's have the self-confidence to become enthusiastic, dynamic and bold while retaining all that makes them good and right. They are able to improve their psychological state by learning to let go of perfectionism and accepting that there are some things they don't need to fix.
