Self-Reflection
Melany and I worked together on this role-play activity and recorded each other. At first, it was a little difficult because of the noise and the phone problems, but it helped us practice real-life communication. We learned how important it is to speak clearly, repeat information, and stay calm in stressful situations.
This activity helped us improve our pronunciation, listening skills, and confidence when speaking English. It also showed us how to communicate politely and professionally on a phone call. Overall, the role-play was useful and helped us feel more comfortable using English in everyday situations.

Self-Reflection
Melany and I worked together in a breakout room to prepare and perform one of the scenarios. This activity helped us understand how important tone is when speaking, because each situation required a different way of communicating. We learned to adjust our language, attitude, and level of formality depending on the context.
Working together helped us practice speaking more naturally and confidently. This activity showed us that choosing the correct tone makes communication clearer and more effective in real-life situations.
Self-Reflection
This activity helped me understand how travel language works in a more real and practical way. While working with Melany and Ivonne on our brochure about La Fortuna, San Carlos, we learned how to use imperative verbs like visit, try, walk, and explore to give clear and engaging recommendations. Using imperatives made our ideas sound more confident and direct, which is common in travel blogs and brochures.
We also practiced giving informal advice, using a friendly and relaxed tone, as if we were talking to other travelers. Working together made the process easier and more creative, because we shared ideas, corrected each other, and decided which expressions sounded more natural. Dividing the information into sections such as where to eat, what to do, and how to move helped us organize our content while still keeping it simple and appealing. Overall, this activity helped me improve my writing, teamwork, and understanding of how grammar and tone are used in real-life travel communication.
