In partnership with the Department of Developmental Services and Disability Rights California, the San Diego Regional Center is pleased to offer Go-Kits and emergency preparedness training for eligible participants who are a part of the SDRC community!
Go-Kit distribution began in July 2023 and will continue through 2024. If eligible, you will receive your Go-Kit and emergency preparedness training when you arrive for your Annual Review.
To see if you qualify to receive the Go-Kits, please review the eligibility criteria below. If you do not qualify but would like to be considered to receive a Go-Kit, please speak with your Service Coordinator.
SDRC participants who meet the following criteria can reach out to their Service Coordinator to receive the training and Go-Kit:
Are a current adult self-advocate (client) with SDRC.
Live in independent OR supportive living service (ILS/SLS) settings.
These are Residential Codes 13 or 14.
Live in a High Fire Threat Zone (click on the link to see eligible zip codes in San Diego and Imperial Counties).
*Additional factors may be taken into consideration if you do not meet the eligibility requirements, such as history of wildfire impacts. We cannot guarantee that everyone who asks will receive a Go-Kit, but we will take every effort to meet those requests.
You are able to access the training in two different ways:
Click the button on the left labeled "Pre-Recorded Session Link" to watch the training video along with your bag to follow along. Videos are available in both English and Spanish.
Your Service Coordinator or Independent/Supportive Living Provider can review the training with you along with your bag by using the handouts below in your desired language.
While you have the choice to individually complete the training at home, it may be helpful to also have your ILS/SLS/caretaker be present during the training as well. That way, they will also be prepared on how to best support you during a disaster with your Go-Kit!
Click on the language below for a copy of the presentation that is presented during the training sessions provided above. If you do not see the language you need, please contact staphany.lu@sdrc.org or your Service Coordinator for assistance.
