Over the last few years, California has seen a growing number of destructive wildfires, leading to significant property and financial damage to local homes and businesses. Effects of climate change, such as higher temperatures and droughts, have contributed to the severity and frequency of wildfires throughout the state.
With the threat of wildfires increasing every year, being prepared for sudden evacuations can be the best way to keep you and your family safe. Please visit our page on wildfire preparedness to learn more about the tools available to stay updated and ready for those emergency situations.

I joined the SDRC team in April 2024 to support the organization's emergency management operations. This includes responsibilities such as creating emergency preparedness training for SDRC staff, self-advocates (clients), and vendors, advocating for the disability community with community emergency partners within San Diego and Imperial Counties, assisting with personal protection equipment (PPE) distribution (while supplies last), completing special projects with the Department of Developmental Services (DDS), and everything else related to emergency preparedness and response!
Before joining SDRC, I worked at New York City Emergency Management, where I supported the City's emergency management planning and response for the transportation, utilities, and infrastructure networks. During that time, I responded to various emergencies such as COVID-19, hurricanes, flash floods, heat waves, and power outages. Upon moving to San Diego in 2022, I worked as a consultant to provide subject matter expertise to utility companies in Southern California to build out their Public Safety and Power Shutoff (PSPS) trainings and exercises, and other local jurisdictions to create/update emergency response plans related to damage assessment and Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear (CBRN) incidents.
I hold a BA in Political Science and a MPA in Management from New York University.
Outside of work, I am a proud cat mother to a calico rescue. I also am an avid climber and hiker, and have recently begun to enjoy a pickleball game or two.
